The DetailingSanctuary Engine Cleaning Process
1.
Inspect the Engine Bay:
We start by thoroughly inspecting the engine bay to identify any areas that need special attention during the cleaning process.
3.
Spray and Agitate:
This is where the real work happens we use multiple brushes and cleaners to break down dirt and grime.
5.
Final Touch-Up and Dress Plastics:
Finally, we touch up any remaining areas and apply a shine to all the plastic components for a polished finish.
2.
Cover Sensitive Areas:
Next, we protect any sensitive components, such as the battery or intake, to ensure they’re safe during the cleaning.
4.
Dry and Remove Water:
We then dry the entire engine bay, making sure to remove all water, even from the tightest spots.
Many of our customers are hesitant to clean their engine bay themselves due to concerns about causing damage. It’s true without the right tools, knowledge, and skills, you could potentially harm your engine.

Engine Cleaning FAQ
How long does this service take?
The duration depends on the size and condition of your engine bay, but it typically takes about an hour. If the condition is particularly bad, it may take longer.
Are you going to use water on my engine bay?
Yes, we use water, but we don’t flood the engine bay. We carefully cover necessary areas, hold the wand at a safe distance, and primarily focus on rinsing off the dirt.
There’s an oil leak/spill. Can you clean that up?
If your engine bay is covered in oil or grease, we won’t be able to service it. We can only clean to a certain extent and cannot reach under or thoroughly into the engine bay where much of the mess collects.
