Is it a good idea to clean your engine bay?
The engine bay is often neglected because it's an area you rarely see unless you need to check something under the hood. However, when the time comes to open your hood, would you rather see an engine covered in dirt, leaves, and bugs, or a clean, well-maintained engine?

Moreover, when it comes to tasks like checking for leaks or changing the oil, having a clean engine bay makes the job much easier and far less messy. So, yes, cleaning your engine bay is definitely worth it.
Will using water damage my engine bay?
Will using water damage my engine bay?
As with many things, if you're not careful, damage can occur. The same principle applies to our paint correction services; if done incorrectly, you could damage the paint.
However, we take the necessary precautions to ensure your engine bay is safe. We don't drench the engine with water but use just enough to rinse off the cleaner and dirt (which isn’t much). We also use the pressure washer wand at a safe distance and cover sensitive areas for added protection.
If you were to do the opposite spraying high-pressure water directly onto the electrical components, the intake, and holding it close to the parts—you could potentially cause damage.
We've cleaned over 35 engines and have never encountered issues like the engine failing to start or triggering a check engine light code.
Can you come to my location just to clean the engine bay?
We can certainly pop down for the service, but please note that an exterior wash will be required. We've found that past engine bays have been particularly dirty, often resulting in oil and grime on the paintwork. To ensure a thorough and clean job, an exterior wash will need to be booked as a minimum for this service.
There was an oil leak in my engine. Can you clean that?
Our engine bay cleaning focuses on surface-level dirt and grime. Unfortunately, if the oil or grease leak is too severe and has penetrated deep into the engine bay, we may not be able to clean it thoroughly. These substances can seep into all the nooks and crannies, making it difficult to reach and clean those areas effectively. If the leak has been present for some time, it becomes even more challenging to clean.
What’s the engine cleaning process?
In summary, our process is as follows: inspect the engine, cover sensitive areas, rinse the bay, thoroughly spray and agitate with multiple brushes, dry the engine bay, and finally, apply dressing to plastic and rubber parts.

We use a variety of cleaners, brushes, and sprayers to reach all accessible areas.
an you polish the aluminum and painted surfaces in my engine bay?
Yes, we can polish your engine! For painted surfaces, as long as there's a clear coat over the paint, they can be polished. Whether you have aftermarket or OEM parts that need brightening, we can handle that. We have 1-inch and 3-inch polishers to get into tight areas, and for more intricate spots, we'll polish by hand to achieve the best results possible.
How long does it take to finish this job?
The time required depends on the size, condition, and complexity of the engine bay. Typically, it takes less than an hour. However, if you're dealing with an older vehicle, such as an all original 1985 Porsche model, our process may change based on the specific cleaning needs.

For older and original vehicles, we might only use a steamer, towels, brushes, and cleaners, avoiding water or a pressure washer altogether.
Do you shine the engine bay?
Yes, after cleaning and drying the engine bay, we apply a water-based dressing to all plastic and rubber areas. If you're not a fan of the dressing, just let us know, and we can skip this step for you.
How long will my engine bay stay clean?
The duration your engine bay stays clean depends on the car you have and how you maintain it. Some cars are well-sealed, preventing water, dirt, and debris from entering, which keeps them cleaner for longer periods.
Other cars with wide-open grilles and less sealing make it easier for dirt, water, and debris to get inside. Regularly wiping down the engine bay once a month, or whenever you wash the vehicle, will help maintain its condition.
