Can you remove 100% of the smoke odour?
When dealing with smoke odour, we ask a few key questions: How long was the vehicle smoked in? How frequently was it smoked in? How strong is the smoke odor?
The extent to which we can remove the odor depends on the severity of these factors. In cases where a vehicle was heavily smoked in, completely removing 100% of the odor may not be possible. This is because nicotine and tobacco can penetrate deeply into fabric materials like the headliner, seats, floor mats, and carpeting.
If your goal is 100% smoke odour removal, replacing certain materials like the headliner might be necessary. However, we’ve successfully treated vehicles that were heavily smoked in, dramatically reducing the odour. It might not be perfect, but it will be much more manageable.
How do you remove smoke odour from the interior?
We start by thoroughly cleaning the interior, following a process similar to our Full Interior Cleaning, but with added focus on smoke odor removal. Even if the interior appears clean, we vacuum the entire space, including all fabric surfaces like the headliner.
Next, we pre-spray the fabric with a strong yet safe carpet cleaner, then agitate and shampoo the surfaces using a hot water extractor. This part of the process can take up to half a day as we meticulously clean every inch we can reach.
After addressing the fabric, we move on to cleaning leather and plastic surfaces, using a tobacco-specific cleaner on each.
Finally, depending on the severity of the odor, we may use a thermal fogger and/or an Ozone machine to eliminate or reduce the remaining odor.
Do you use an Ozone machine?
Yes! Depending on the condition, we may use an Ozone machine to help reduce the odour. Our powerful Ozone machine neutralizes severe odours at their source this isn’t a quick fix like a £10 odour bomb from an auto parts store.
My car was just detailed but the smoke odour is still present. Can you help?
If smoke odor persists even after detailing, it means there's still a layer of tobacco and nicotine in the interior. In this case, we would need to start from scratch and perform our deep interior cleaning process to address the issue effectively.
Do I have to replace my cabin air filter?
Yes, it's highly recommended to change your cabin air filter, as it may contain smoke odor. Even if your interior is odor-free, turning on the AC with a dirty cabin air filter can reintroduce smoke odor into the vehicle.
How long does it take to complete?
Depending on the condition and severity of the smoke odour, the process can take up to a day to complete. This is a thorough and detailed procedure, and we take our time to ensure we do everything possible to eliminate or reduce the odour. Running the Ozone machine alone can take up to 2.5 hours per treatment.
Do you come to me, or do I have to drop off my vehicle?
For this service, you will need to drop off your vehicle at our Address. To achieve the best results, we need to control the work environment and closely monitor the Ozone machines.
Does this remove smoke odour from my interior?
Cleaning can help reduce an odor, but a specific smoke odor treatment is needed to eliminate or greatly reduce the smell. We offer smoke odor removal services for this purpose.
Can I just use an odor bomb and air out my interior?
To remove any odor, including smoke, you must address and eliminate the source of the odor. If nicotine and tobacco residues remain in the interior, using an odor bomb and airing out the vehicle will not fully resolve the issue. In cases of very mild odor, an odor bomb might help, but it is not a guaranteed solution.
