Mobile car valeting and detailing in Lichfield
Detailing Sanctuary is a one-man mobile valeting and detailing service based in Bradmore, Wolverhampton, working across Lichfield and the WS13 and WS14 postcodes. I bring my own deionised water, chemistry and machines to your driveway, and the only thing I need from you is an outside socket. There is no separate travel charge to Lichfield, but there is a £195 minimum job value, roughly a Deep Clean with an add-on. Over 500 vehicles, over 90 five-star Google reviews, fully insured and qualified.

Station car parks, the A38 and the lanes out to Alrewas
Lichfield is a commuter city first, at least as far as cars are concerned. The Cross-City line into Birmingham and the West Coast trains from Trent Valley mean a lot of cars here spend their working week stood still, either in the station car parks at Lichfield City and Trent Valley or on a residential street nearby, collecting bird mess, tree sap and the fine grit that blows off the A38.
Then there is the A38 itself. It runs past the city from Swinfen in the south to Hilliard's Cross in the north, it is the freight spine between Birmingham and Burton, and it feeds Fradley Park, where DHL, Screwfix, Tesco and Palletways all operate from the same few hundred acres. Cars that sit behind that traffic come back with diesel film, tar on the lower doors and stone chips on the bonnet and mirrors.
North and east of the city the roads turn into single-track lanes almost immediately. Elmhurst, Curborough, Whittington, Wall and the run out to Alrewas and the National Memorial Arboretum are all hedge-lined, and cars that use them daily come back with field mud in the arches, flail debris down the flanks after the hedges are cut, and fine thorn scratches in the lacquer that no wash will touch.
So the cars here split two ways. Interiors on the commuter cars and the dog cars - Beacon Park and the Stowe Pool circuit are busy with dogs most mornings, and that hair ends up in boot carpet and seat fabric. And paint work on the cars that are kept properly, on the Boley Park and Darwin Park driveways where there is room to work and a socket by the back door.
Lichfield also turns a lot of cars over. It is an affluent district with plenty of three-year leases ending and plenty of private sales, and a car photographed clean on a Darwin Park drive in decent light sells for more than the same car photographed dirty. Pre-sale work makes sense here, and the time to do it is a week or so before the advert goes up.
Neighbourhoods and practicalities
Most of Lichfield is driveway country, which is the easy end of this job. Boley Park, Darwin Park, Streethay, Sandfields, Leomansley, Curborough, The Dimbles, Nether Stowe, Chadsmead, St John's, Stowe and Trent Valley nearly all have off-street parking, and the newer estates at Darwin Park and Streethay are the easiest of the lot - wide drives, a flat surface and an outside socket on most plots.
The city centre is the awkward part. Around the Cathedral Close, Beacon Street, Bird Street and the older terraces near Minster Pool, parking is on-street, often restricted, and there is frequently no way to run a lead out to the car. If that is you, the usual answer is to do the job at work, at a relative's drive, or to bring the car to me in Wolverhampton by arrangement.
Outside the city I cover Whittington, Shenstone, Wall, Fradley and Elmhurst across WS13 and WS14, and I go out to Hammerwich and Alrewas as well, which fall under WS7 and DE13. Village driveways are usually generous, which helps on the longer jobs. Lichfield is roughly 21 miles and about 40 minutes from my base in Bradmore, out through Walsall and then the A461. That 21 miles is the drive; the minimum job value is worked out on straight-line distance, about 16 miles, which puts the city itself in the £195 band rather than the £225 one. The villages move it either way: Hammerwich, Wall and Shenstone are closer in a straight line and drop to £175, while Whittington, Fradley and Alrewas are past 18 miles and sit at £225. The booking page works it out from your postcode before you pay, so you are never guessing. Jobs this far out are worth booking as a proper start to the day rather than squeezing in around something else.
Mobile valet, ceramic coating and paint correction in Lichfield
Every service I offer is available in Lichfield at the same prices as Wolverhampton. Fixed written quote before anything is booked.
Interior Valet from £45 covers a tidy-up on a car that is basically sound. For the commuter cars and the dog cars, the Interior Deep Clean from £95 is the one that earns its money - extraction, steam and leather care rather than a hoover and a wipe. Pet hair removal is £25 an hour on top where the boot has taken the worst of it, and seats out is £40 on the deep clean when the mess has gone underneath them.
Outside, a Full Valet from £100 covers inside and out in up to three hours. The Deep Clean from £135 adds full chemical decontamination outside and a proper interior deep clean, and the decontamination is what actually shifts the tar and iron fallout the A38 leaves on the lower panels. That is Korrosol and Surfex HD doing the work, not a stronger wash. Pre-Sale Valet from £180 adds the engine bay, headlights and a listing photoshoot, and Headlight Restoration on its own is from £50. A Maintenance Wash plan runs from £32.50 a visit if you would rather it never got that far.
For paint, the Make Over from £285 is an enhancement, not a correction - about two hours of polishing that lifts 25 to 35 per cent of the defects, with a 12-month Fusso wax on top, roughly six hours all in. Paint Correction from £280 is the Stage 1 cutting stage and takes out up to 75 per cent; Stage 2 goes up to 85 per cent and is quoted per car. Stage 3 sanding is not offered. Coatings start at £350 for the two-year graphene, £475 for the five-year ceramic and £550 for the seven-year Reign 10H, and each includes full decontamination and a Stage 1 machine polish before the coating goes on. Coatings cannot be applied in rain, so the car sits under a 6m x 3m gazebo and stays put overnight while the coating hardens.
One thing to be plain about at this distance. Lichfield carries a £195 minimum job value, and these all sit under it on their own: the Maintenance Wash at £32.50, Interior Valet from £45, Headlight Restoration from £50, Interior Deep Clean from £95, Full Valet from £100, Deep Clean from £135, Odour and Smoke Removal from £140 and Pre-Sale Valet from £180. Any of them works here with an add-on, a second car at the same address or another booking alongside it, and the booking page works it out from your postcode before you pay.

What these cars usually need
On a family car that does the school run and the dog walk, the job is usually an Interior Deep Clean from £95. Seats and carpets extracted, vents and trim steamed, leather fed, and an hour or two of pet hair removal at £25 an hour where the boot has taken the brunt of it. Ozone at £45 gets added when the damp-dog smell has settled into the headlining and the vents rather than just the seats.
On a car that has spent a couple of years commuting on the A38 or the A5127, the work is usually a Deep Clean from £135 to strip the tar and iron fallout, or a Make Over from £285 where the owner wants the gloss lifted and a wax that will see out the winter. A coating needs drive space to work under the gazebo, which the newer estates tend to have and the streets around the Close do not.

"Absolutely amazing job on my BMW X5 and Mercedes CLA. The car was left with a mirror finish, super clean and shiny. The inside was like brand new, smelt amazing with carpet stripes and looked like they both came fresh out the show room. On time, professional and genuine nice guys who took pride and care in the job."
