Unpainted exterior plastic fades for two reasons: UV breaks down the surface, and harsh wash chemicals strip the oils out of it. The result is that pale, chalky grey that no amount of washing improves - and that drags down a car that's otherwise well kept.
There are two ways to deal with it. A trim dressing is a silicone that darkens the plastic for a week or two and then streaks down your paint in the rain. A trim restorer is a coating that bonds to the plastic and puts the colour back for months to years. We use the second.

- Sealed so it survives the wash rather than washing off in it
What it costs and what it can't do
Trim restoration is quoted per vehicle, because the difference between a set of mirror caps and the full arches, bumpers and sills on a 4x4 is an hour or more. Send us a photo of the worst of it and we'll price it - it's normally added to a Full Valet or paint correction rather than booked on its own, and it makes a bigger difference to those jobs than almost any other add-on.
What it can't do: plastic that's cracked, physically worn through or chalked so deeply the surface has gone powdery won't restore - it needs replacing or painting. We'll tell you at the quote stage.
