Terms of service
The rules our work runs under, written the same way we'd explain them on your driveway.
Last updated: 10 September 2026
1. Who these terms are with
These terms cover work carried out by Detailing Sanctuary, a mobile car detailing and valeting business based at Coalway Road, Wolverhampton WV3. "We" and "us" means Detailing Sanctuary; "you" means the person booking the work.
2. Quotes and prices
Prices shown on this website are starting prices. The final price depends on the size and condition of the vehicle - each vehicle size step adds 7%, rounded up to the nearest pound.
Before anything is booked you get a fixed written quote. That quote is what you pay. If we arrive and the vehicle is significantly different from what was described or photographed, we'll tell you before starting and agree a revised price with you - we won't do extra work and add it to the bill afterwards.
We do not charge a call-out or mobile fee. For longer journeys we may ask for a minimum job value, agreed with you up front.
3. Booking and access
A booking is confirmed once we've agreed a date and you've accepted the written quote. On the day we need:
- Space to work right around the vehicle with the doors open.
- Access to an outside mains socket. We bring our own deionised water, so your tap is not needed.
- For coating work, somewhere dry and reasonably sheltered, agreed with you beforehand.
If we arrive and the vehicle cannot safely be worked on - no access, no power, or nowhere safe to park - we'll do what we reasonably can and rebook the rest.
4. Payment and deposits
A 25% deposit (minimum £25) secures every booking. It isn't an extra charge - it comes off your final bill. The balance is due on completion of the work, unless we've agreed something different in writing. We accept cash and debit or credit cards.
5. Weather
Washing and interior work goes ahead in most weather. Ceramic coating application needs dry, stable conditions - if the forecast turns and there's no shelter available, we'll move the booking rather than apply a coating badly. There's no charge for a weather move.
6. Cancelling or rescheduling
Deposits are non-refundable: once a slot is booked, it can't be offered to anyone else. You can move a booking free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice, and that notice must be in writing to Detailmycar@detailingsanctuary.co.uk so both of us have a record of it. A phone call or a text on its own is not enough. If you cancel or reschedule inside 24 hours, or don't show, the deposit is lost and a new one is needed for any new date.
Weather is the exception. If severe weather stops a coating or correction job going ahead safely, we'll reschedule at no cost and your deposit carries over. Valeting and interior work generally goes ahead regardless.
If you booked as a consumer and the booking was made at a distance or away from our business premises, you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel. If you ask us to start work inside that period you may be charged for what has already been done.
7. Maintenance plans
- A full deep clean or professional detail is required before a plan starts, and the vehicle is then assessed for eligibility.
- A term runs for four months, counted as four weeks per month - 16 weeks. That is 16 visits weekly, 8 fortnightly or 4 monthly.
- Terms roll over automatically on the same basis. Each rollover is a natural point to change frequency or cancel.
- Pay as you go is full price. Contracted saves 5%. Paid in full saves 10%.
- Visits can be moved with reasonable notice rather than lost.
8. Ceramic coatings and aftercare
Coating packages include decontamination and a Stage 1 machine polish. Coverage periods quoted (2, 5 and 7 years) assume the car is washed correctly afterwards. To let the coating cure, keep the vehicle dry for 24 hours and don't wash it for 7 days. After that use a pH-neutral shampoo and a two-bucket method, or a maintenance plan visit.
A coating is not a force field. It adds hardness and makes light marring less likely, but it does not prevent stone chips, kerbing or damage from an automatic car wash. Coverage does not extend to damage caused by incorrect washing or by third parties.
9. What we can and can't achieve
We tell you honestly what a job will and won't fix. Machine polishing lifts a proportion of defects, not all of them - the Make Over removes roughly 25-35% of swirl marks. Long-set stains, dye transfer, sun bleaching and failing clear coat may improve rather than disappear.
We inspect the vehicle before starting and point out existing damage - stone chips, dents, previous poor repairs, cracked trim, worn leather. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, or for defects that only become visible once dirt is removed.
10. Our responsibility to you
We work carefully and are insured. If we damage your vehicle through our negligence we will put it right. We are not liable for loss that isn't a foreseeable result of our work, for items left in the vehicle, or for delays caused by weather, traffic, illness or anything else outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
11. Photographs
We photograph every vehicle on arrival, before work starts, so both of us have a record of its condition. We often photograph our work and may use those photos on this website and on social media. Number plates are covered. If you'd rather your vehicle wasn't photographed, just say so when you book - that's absolutely fine.
12. Complaints
If something isn't right, tell us as soon as you can - ideally at the walk-round before we leave. Email Detailmycar@detailingsanctuary.co.uk or call 01902 288198 and we'll sort it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
